Thomas Johnson, MD

Dr. Johnson is a graduate of Emory University and the Medical College of Georgia. He is Board Certified and Fellowship-trained. Dr. Johnson is a recipient of the Order of the Palmetto, the highest civilian honor in the State of South Carolina. Dr. Johnson has been affiliated with Medical Spas throughout his career prior to joining the Natural Hideaway as Medical Director in 2009.

His discriminating eye and attention to detail will help you put your best face forward. He is also the area Zerona expert and has done extensive research in the importance of vector work in Thermage and Titan skin tightening procedures. Dr. Johnson is a native Charlestonian and resides on the Isle of Palms.


Amanda Dantzler

Amanda is our laser technician extraordinaire! She has been with the Natural Hideaway for seven years and has over 4,500 hours administering IPL (intense pulsed light) treatments. She has nearly as many hours with Thermage and Titan skin tightening treatments, and she has accrued more than 5,000 hours with Laser Genesis (yag laser) treatments by Cutera. She is certified by Thermage in “Tummy by Thermage,” “Face by Thermage,” and “Eyes by Thermage,” and she has received the coveted multi specialty “Seal of Approval” designation by Thermage.

Amanda is THE local expert in skin care. She has extensive training with Obagi, NeoCutis, Nia24 and PCA skin care lines as well as training from Physicians Choice in the use and benefits of facial peels. There is no one better than Amanda to help you put together the best skin care regimen for you, one that actually gets results.

  
 


Taunya White

Taunya founded the Natural Hideaway with Dr. Claudia Welber in 2001. As the managing partner, Taunya blended her business savvy with Claudia's immense medical knowledge to build a busy practice focused on fighting aging with skin treatments. “We are busy because we do really great work at the Hideaway," explains Taunya. "I have always known that helping women (and men) feel good about their appearance has a positive impact on their lives – it’s empowering!”

Taunya took a leave of absence from the business after her son, Max, was born. When Dr. Welber passed away in June 2008, and with Max enrolled at Porter Gaud, Taunya found time to devote herself full-time to the Hideaway. Dr. Welber had quite a following and couldn’t really be replaced. There were several part time doctors before Dr. Johnson became a permanent member of the staff. He has a passion and ability for the business that is recognized by the clients of the Hideaway. He fits seemlessly, and is carrying on the mission of helping the greater Charleston area age gracefully.

Taunya grew up in Nebraska and worked in the political arena for many years before moving to South Carolina in 1999. She lives with her family at Seabrook Island.
